   Description : Well known and established MGA is seeking an accomplished commercial underwriting assistant to join their growing team! Are you someone who enjoys supporting productive and successful underwriters helping to contribute to the bottom line? This position is for you! In this position the individual will provide technical insurance support, which will allow underwriters to focus on overall assessment of risks for commercial package policies, develop and negotiate premium and manage relationships with producers, brokers and carriers in order to provide the appropriate insurance product to clients and generate profit in accordance with company goals. Determine the standard forms and apply rating, including credits and debits, to prepare initial premium quotes. Issue quotations for proposed insurance policies. Compile data into detailed management reports and client reviews. Provide technical and administrative support to managers.

   Requirement : Basic knowledge of principles and practices of insurance underwriting. This includes an understanding of risk assessment, negotiating pricing, terms and conditions, and building and maintaining positive broker relationships. Knowledge of principles and practices of insurance. Specifically, complete understanding of property and casualty policies, especially package policies. Comprehensive understanding of limits, deductibles, endorsements, occurrence and claims-made contract terms, conditions, coverage triggers, insurance terminology. Knowledge of and adherence to state laws, rules, regulations and standards relative to the sale and placement of insurance products. Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the internet as a resource and insurance agency management systems.
