Studies toward attaining a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or equivalent insurance designation depending on specialty area. 2-4 or 10-20 years of relevant underwriting experience specifically in E&O miscellaneous professional liability and/or lawyers liability insurance. Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment. Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office.

Job Title : Contract Surety Business Development / Senior Underwriter

   Description : Leads an underwriting team that includes surety territory managers and field underwriters that own the sales and underwriting relationship for small/middle market surety books of business. Develops and maintains business relationships with agencies and/or brokers for the purpose of sales growth and distribution expansion. Primary focus of this role is on broad territory management, which includes relationship, underwriting and expense management. Independently underwrites accounts based on authority level. Monitors market conditions and confirms information gathered within market space. Researches risk, environment and factors necessary to win the account. Receives input and monitors risk selection, renewal retention and pricing decisions on a portfolio and individual account level. Establishes research objectives and standards for the department. Ensures that methodologies and outcomes meet business and strategic objectives. Analyzes performance of portfolio as well as individual account performance and develops appropriate action to drive profitable growth based upon the analysis. Evaluates risks based on assigned underwriting. Reviews and approves underwriting decisions of staff and ensures compliance to legal requirements. Measures and manages underwriting processing and quality. Actively manages and participates in agency management. Determines priorities and workflow standards for the department. Plans, develops and integrates territory sales plans to achieve top and bottom line objectives. Drives sales strategies to develop new business, improve retention and maintain profitability. Meets with agents to help with renewals and to ensure agency and account needs are being met. Communicates strategic direction and operational plans to internal associates and external partners.

Job Title : Commercial and Professional Liability Account Manager (2)

   Description : Service and manage all aspects of client services for professional liability clients. Work with account executives and sales personnel in quoting, binding and billing new and renewal business. Interact daily with sales staff and insurance markets for the delivery of services to clients. Cross sell additional professional liability products. Provide day to day customer service to new and existing clientele. Client communication and coordination. Develop and improve the company’s processes and procedures. Daily customer service functions such as certificates of insurance, policy changes, invoicing, processing of claims, etc. Update and maintenance of client files/coverages. Coordination with sales staff on new/existing client accounts. Will work with account executives and producers and manage a book of professional liability accounts independently. Manage day to day activities of the accounts and cross sell other products to existing accounts.

   Requirement : Property and Casualty Insurance license is a MUST. Must have experience as a licensed commercial lines account manager.
