This position is responsible for managing Complex Claims including the setting of proper and adequate Reserves, interaction with internal and external business partners and the performance of Claims Reviews of clients. Review, handle and process all new and existing claims within assigned portfolio.

   Requirement : Comprehensive knowledge of professional liability claims, specifically Directors and Officers lines of business. Familiarity with claims processing systems, Excel, Word etc. College graduate. 10+ years prior experience. Conduct between 12-15 claim reviews annually on assigned accounts. Includes travel to various locations, dependent on client location. Proficient knowledge of primary claims handling with a focus on US exposures. Ability to independently evaluate primary claim damages and liability. Understanding of insurance and reinsurance terminology, LOB specific insurance coverage’s, reinsurance treaty terms and account changes with modification to the reinsurance structure, terms and conditions. Working knowledge of legal process and laws applicable to the lines of business handled in the unit. Ability to recognize potential legal issues or conflicts in differing jurisdictions. Ability to read and understand terms of reinsurance contract and adjust claims in accordance therewith.

Job Title : Senior Litigation Claims Examiner
   Jobcode : 19869
   Description : Responsible for determining and discharging the companys contractual obligations under its various medical malpractice/medical liability policy contracts (commercial GL, constructions/defect, etc.) involving coverage analysis, investigation, legal defense, and loss and expense reserving. Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage. Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary. Establish initial loss and expense reserves. Maintain valid loss and expense reserves based on current investigation and legal discovery. Supervise activities of adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure that all claims are appropriately handled. Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary. Adhere to company procedures and guidelines as well as case law and statutory requirements when coverage is in question, and/or when paying or denying claims. Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers. Maintain current understanding of various unfair claim practices statutes. Prepare large loss reports where applicable.

Exposure to Architects/Engineers professional liability and environmental coverages a plus!
